What is FOBISSEA?



FOBISSEA is a membership association of British schools of quality in South and East Asia. The Federation is registered with the Registrar of Societies in Singapore and currently has twenty seven member schools offering British-style international education to over 20,000 students in FOBISSEA schools.

What does FOBISSEA do?



The Federation exists to provide a forum for professional dialogue between the Heads and staff of British schools in the region.

It arranges and conducts professional meetings:
- An Annual Conference for Heads;
- An Annual Conference and professional development opportunities for Senior Management;
- Regular opportunities for professional development of staff.

It organises:
Opportunities for students to participate in activities of a sporting, cultural or of an academic nature.



What is the aim of FOBISSEA?



The aim of the Federation is to promote excellence in good practice in British style education in our schools

By:
- Keeping abreast of developments in education in Britain and in the international context;

- Sharing ideas on the practical and relevant implementation of such developments, and seeking initiatives to ensure cost effectiveness; - Ensuring consistency of style of education in our schools to enable students to transfer between them and home-country schools with minimal disruption; - Celebrating commonality of national heritage and regional cultural identities;

- Providing opportunities for students to participate in sporting, cultural and academic activities of a collaborative nature; - Facilitating schools' improvement through shared programmes of professional development to address members' individual needs; - Responding to the changing needs of the expatriate community in the region; - Exploring initiatives of a cost-effective nature to the benefit of member schools; - Promoting the Federation and its members.
