Established in 2004, we are a co-educational school located in a thriving expatriate area in west Shanghai.  As part of the prestigious Nord Anglia Education group of schools, we ensure that all our students become the best they can be, ready to play leading roles as global citizens of the 21st century. Our English medium education follows the UK National Curriculum from ages 3-16, and offers the academically rigorous IB Diploma to its 130 students in years 12 and 13. Our growing secondary school has 585 students on roll. It delivers exceptional performance in public examinations and provides access to world class higher education for students.  In 2012, our IB Diploma results were 4 points above the world average, with, five scores above 40 and two perfect scores of 45.


Following the promotion of the current post holder, we are looking for an experienced school leader to make a difference as Head of our Secondary School and help us to take our school from good to outstanding.  He or she will have a proven track-record in school leadership and a strong understanding of British education, as well as the creativity, motivation, communication skills and adaptability to make a significant impact in this central role. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal, Vice-Principal and Head of Primary to:

·         strengthen and develop the school’s mission, vision and strategic plan;

·         engage with students, staff and parents to ensure that we identify, understand and meet their educational aims and needs;

·         build strong relationships with all members of the school community;

·         ensure that the Secondary School remains full and in high demand;

·         build and monitor the necessary teams and systems to run the school effectively;

·         ensure that the teaching and learning in the School is of the highest quality;

·         encourage participation and success in sports, music, drama, arts and other extra-curricular programmes.

·         develop the use of forward looking technology in teaching and learning.

·         maximise the use of the Secondary School’s brand new purpose built campus;
