Additional Programs Offered
Learning Support: Our committed Learning Support teachers provide and help facilitate appropriate learning opportunities for students with mild to moderate Special Educational Needs/ learning difficulties. Support can be offered to students throughout their school career at BIS; on a long or short term basis.
English as Additional Language: English Language Support (ELS) in the Secondary School makes provision for the needs of second language students of English within the school. The support offered takes various forms and is delivered by specialist teachers of English as a Second Language. Our initial concern is to foster the acquisition of survival language to enable students to cope with the practical aspects of class and school life and to function socially. Once basic structure and vocabulary are in place, our next aim is to assist students in acquiring the necessary spoken and written language to function fully in the mainstream academic programme.

The ELS programme focuses on in-class support in the core mainstream classes. Students receiving this support will also be taught English as a subject within the school's Language B Faculty.

Others:
Guidance Counseling: In addition to the pastoral care provided by tutors and the Members of the Secondary Leadership Team and/or Lead Teachers, the school also provides counselling. The Counsellor’s role is to offer counselling to individual students and/or parents about behavioral, social or emotional problems affecting students. The Guidance Counsellor and/or University/Careers Officer also provide guidance in the form of advice about future careers and university/college selection to students from Year 9 upwards
After school activities program: Our students participate in an impressive range of after school activities every week.  In any given term there are more than 50 options available covering sport, performing arts, community service, academic support or extension and Outdoor Education.
A student may rehearse for the musical on Monday, train for swimming meets each morning, attend extension classes on Tuesday, play tennis on Thursday as well as participate in football on Saturday.
A balanced school life should include a range of activities and at BIS students have many opportunities.

Boarding Facilities
Boarding is an integral part of the life of the school. The boarding houses are located close to the main school buildings. Boarders enjoy a high standard of accommodation, easy access to educational and sporting facilities, and the chance to enjoy all the opportunities of school life to the full.
Perhaps the most important of these opportunities is the time spent building friendships which will no doubt endure throughout their time at the school and their lives beyond.
Students living in boarding learn the value of being a contributing member of a community. They also learn the discipline of personal responsibility
